DESCRIPTION: gfMeals, by Your Dinner Secret, is owned by two sisters named Roni and Ari. Grandma Helen is really our grandmother and this really is the brisket recipe that she passed down to us. It's a local favorite and now, for the first time, we are bringing it to all of our customers nationwide. Your brisket will cook low and slow while swimming in a sweet smelling bath of ketchup, onions, garlic, paprika and bay leaf. Warning, this dish will make your house smell so divine. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. It's a holiday and family dinner must.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS: Note: Cooking Time = 2-3 hours. Also Note: Brisket is well marbled. The fat keeps the meat tender. Thaw completely. Preheat oven to 300°. Remove meat, rinse, pat dry and season both sides with your own salt and pepper. Place a roasting pan or baking dish on stovetop over med-high heat. Place 2 T. of oil in pan. When pan is hot, brown brisket for 1-1/2 min. per side. Next, remove pan from stove and pour sauce all over meat. Add 1 to 2 cups of water to pan. The pan should always have enough liquid to cover meat about half way up. Tightly cover with a lid or foil and place in the oven. HERE’S THE SECRET TO A PERFECT BRISKET – TURN BRISKET AND BASTE EVERY 30 MINUTES. The brisket will take 2-3 hours to cook. It’s done when the meat falls apart when you stick it with a fork. Once done, let the brisket rest for 15 min. Place it on your cutting board and cut ¼” slices against the grain. Pour sauce from pan into a serving dish and enjoy over meat and, we suggest, baked potatoes. |
